Bravi ledrensi: responsible and democratic
letter to the editor of the South
December 3, 2008 - p.51
of Massimiliano Floriani
I want to define the historical outcome of the referendum held soon Val di Ledro. For my part, I felt excitement when I read the news. Italy of Values \u200b\u200bregards with sincere pleasure at this decision to merge into a single municipality in the Valley. I personally believe that it will soon become an example to follow in various locations in Trentino, a warning, a sign of sharing the management of public affairs unit. Leaving behind the towers we can save associated with a great deal of money management, with the union of municipalities. Currently, the Trentino territory has more than 100 communities in more than Alto Adige, and this is certainly not a simple and inexpensive to administer especially evident in the current crisis. In the past I have also greeted with joy and optimism, the union of culture between the towns of Arco and Riva del Garda, sure is a first step to arrive at a common one, the third largest in the province. And I personally praised directors who have made the choice to combine many of the services of the municipality with the municipality of Drena Dro. All this is possible, leaving behind ways of thinking now of the past. Each country tighten its strong traditions, without losing anything on the road to union. There will be the individuality of each community while having a single common that, save in the management and centralized administration, will broadly to countries that form the municipality. The
able to save money and simplify management by joining forces is an act of democracy and accountability in a time increasingly sacrificed to the image and consumerism. Those who set aside, leaving a place in the council or mayor or councilor to come, possibly threatening to undermine the balance of families who have for years maintained a small town can claim to have made a gesture that honors, more than ever, politics. A demonstration that the interest to the community is superior to their own interests. Not everyone will be happy with the unions, there is always some dissatisfied. But think very carefully about such an important decision, probably not hard to understand that the effort will return great results and certainly nothing is sold out. Congratulations to Val di Ledro.
